Make your words count

Affirmations are powerful tools, used by people across all spectrums of humanity. Tony Robbins made them famous in the movie Shallow Hal. The Dalai Lama uses positive affirmations in his quest for world peace. I used Deepak Chopra's Soul of Healing Affirmations to help me survive after the death of my son.

An affirmation is basically creating the blueprint for the life you want to live. You are creating your own reality, by the words you speak and hear. It really is important to think about your affirmations before using them as a tool, because their power can be dangerous if used incorrectly.

Take the time to think about your goals. Where do you want to be in 10 years? Where do you want to be in 5 years? What are the steps that you need to take to get there? Dream big here - there is nothing you can't achieve.

Always use "I Am" statements - never "I will" or "I'm going to". For example - "I am the #1 sales rep in the country" or "I earn and receive $XX each year"

Find music that you connect with, choose something that really stirs your soul when you hear it and create a playlist. Now, layer your EMPOWER affirmations with your favorite music. You already know that this music will motivate you, now use it to really transform your life.

Run your EMPOWER affirmations all day and night, by using Subliminal mode - no one around you will even know it's playing. All the while, your brain and subconscious mind are busy mapping out your dream future.

While stating your affirmations, tap your chest (above your heart) with your non-dominant hand. This challenges the neural connections in your brain, and creates a more meaningful mind - body connection.

It's important to understand that you are creating your own reality. The words you choose paint the picture of your future.
